  • Leghorns: Great egg producers, but small and not ideal for meat.
  • Broilers (Rock-Cornish): Bred for rapid meat production but can become overweight.
  • Dual-purpose Breeds: Rhode Island Red, Plymouth Rock, New Hampshire, Wyandotte, Orpington are good for both eggs and meat.
  • Bantams and Crosses: Popular for small flocks.
