Temperament: Docile, curious, can be flighty due to crest limiting vision

Best For: Ornamental/pet flocks
Fun Fact: The large poofy crest on Polish Bantams can sometimes make it hard for them to see!

Temperament: Calm, hardy, gentle but can be assertive
Special Traits: Used to improve meat qualities in hybrids; show birds too
Best For: Show, backyard, meat projects
Fun Fact: Cornish Bantams’ muscular build gives them a “bulldog” look among chickens.
Did you know? Cornish are the foundation breed for modern commercial broiler (meat) chickens.

Australorp Bantam

Temperament: Calm, gentle, easy to handle

Fun Fact: The name "Australorp" comes from "Australian Orpington."

Faverolles Bantam

Temperament: Very active, alert, somewhat flighty but not aggressive
Special Traits: Prized by poultry fanciers for appearance; not broody
Best For: Shows, experienced keepers
Fun Fact:Rosecomb Bantams were developed only for exhibition—they were never bred for eggs or meat!
Did you know? Despite their beauty, they are not known to be broody.
