Here are some websites with weird and funky eggs. Everyone who raises chickens will encounter a weird egg at one time or another. Lately I have had one girl laying an egg with a membrane outside over the egg. I have had an egg inside an egg, fart eggs, lash egg and a few more odd ones over the years.

Chicken eggs can sometimes exhibit unusual characteristics. Here are some common types of weird and funky eggs:

Common Egg Abnormalities
Type of Egg, Description, Causes
Soft-Shelled Eggs
Eggs with thin or no shells, often feel rubbery. Stress, nutritional deficiencies, age.
Double Yolkers Eggs containing two yolks, usually from young hens. Mistimed yolk release during ovulation.
Rough or Bumpy Eggs Eggs with coarse bumps or rough textures on the shell. Calcium or vitamin D imbalances, stress.
Yolk-less Eggs Small, round eggs without yolks, resembling marbles. Early laying attempts by young hens.

Causes of Egg Abnormalities
Stress Factors:
Environmental stressors such as loud noises, overcrowding, or extreme weather can lead to various egg irregularities.
Age of Hens: Young hens and older hens are more prone to laying soft-shelled or misshapen eggs due to their reproductive systems being less stable.
Nutritional Deficiencies: Lack of essential nutrients like calcium, phosphorus, or vitamin D can result in soft shells or rough textures.

Safety of Eating Odd Eggs
Most weird and funky eggs are safe to eat. However, if abnormalities occur frequently, it may indicate underlying health issues in the hens. It's advisable to monitor the flock's health and consult a vet if problems persist.

By understanding these egg oddities, chicken keepers can ensure their hens remain healthy and continue to produce quality eggs.
